My Story

Hi! I’m Devon. Thank you so, so much for visiting this blog. Cooking is my favorite thing to do and has been for over 10 years. I am not exaggerating when I say it is a dream come true to share my Recipes , kitchen hacks and video projects with you.

I have cooked in different sized kitchens in apartments all over the country. Some of them were VERY small, which at the time really sucked. On the positive side, it gave me a lot of insight into how to make the most of not having a lot of space. Also, there was a significant amount of time of me teaching myself how to cook while I was balling on a budget. I didn’t have a huge collection of kitchen equipment or a way to buy fancy and expensive ingredients. This allowed (or forced) me to get super resourceful with my cooking and I came up with MANY tricks. Now I get to share them with you which is so wonderful.

It makes me really happy to cook for my family and friends. A random fun fact about me is I cooked breakfast at a youth hostel for several months when I was 24, so I learned to make enough food for up to 75 people. They were visiting from all over the world and it was a really, really cool experience.

All of my recipes are original, except for a few that were created by my brother or my mom, and label those as such. I would be so happy and love to hear about any experience you have making each of them, trying them, and any different takes or new things you add. Please comment, take pictures and send them to me, and let me know!

My Approach

My approach to cooking is very intuitive and explorative. When I am making something almost never use recipes (which is why I have created so many of my own), and I want you to feel that freedom and excitement if that is how cooking works for you. These recipes will give you exact instructions if you feel that is what you need, but I also really encourage you to be creative if you feel called to!

I have been vegan since the middle of 2018, so all of the recipes here are plant-based. I always, always, ALWAYS encourage creativity and expressing yourself while you cook, so if you feel like you would rather use dairy ingredients or add chicken or fish, you should be able to do so easily.

Again, thank you for being here. I am really so glad you are. I hope you enjoy these recipes, and can feel all the love put into them. Always vegan, almost always healthy.
