Vegan Bacon French Fry Recipe

This is adapted from the Bob’s Burgers Burger Book as a side from one of the burger recipes. French Fries have been a friend and savior to vegans in restaurants everywhere for years now, because they are almost always conventionally vegan, so that is great. I do have to say that sometimes I miss the effects of fully loaded bacon fries, with the smokey flavor and the crispiness that really takes it to the next level, so I did what all good vegans do, and figured out a way to make it myself. From my tastebuds determination, this vegan bacon french fry recipe was born.

I really like the light life brand bacon, but there is no grease when you cook it which is really what makes the bacon fries bacony. So, I had to make my own grease! I figured out a great concoction with olive oil and liquid smoke, and as a result I got exactly what I wanted so read on and discover what is sure to be your new favorite vegan bacon french fry recipe.

Shopping List:

You will need Russet potatoes, Light Life bacon or some other vegan bacon, Just Egg, Oatmilk, Liquid Smoke, Olive Oil, Garlic powder, Salt, and Pepper

Ingredients/Measurements:

-7 Russet Potatoes, Chopped into Wedges

-4 pieces of light life vegan bacon, chopped into small pieces

-1 cup of just Egg

-2/3 cup of oatmilk

-3 tbsp olive oil

-a few drops of liquid smoke

-1 tsp garlic powder

-2 tsp salt

-1/2 tsp pepper

Directions:

Here we go!

First you need to cook the potatoes with 1 tbsp of olive oil in the air fryer on the french fry setting.

While the potatoes are in the air fryer, preheat the oven to 425.

As the potatoes fry and the oven preheats, you can make the “bacon grease”. Mix 2 tbsp of olive oil and the drops of liquid smoke in a bowl and whisk together. Pour it into a frying pan and cook the bacon pieces in it.

When the fries are done put them in a large bowl and add the just egg and the oatmilk and the bacon pieces. Stir so that the fries are coated, then pour them into a baking dish.

Cook the fries and the bacon egg oatmilk mixture in the oven for 20 minutes, and when they are done serve them warm on the side of a burger and enjoy! If you think this was super delicious and fun and easy to make please let your friends know about your new favorite vegan bacon french fry recipe.
